The goals of Ushers and Greeters is to warmly greet worshipers and to preserve and uphold the dignity of the house of God by creating a feeling of welcome for all who enter our parish home. They arrive early to prepare for the arrival of the congregation, assist the elderly and those in need of handicap access, open doors, assist with seating, collect donations and direct orderly communion processions. They take direction from the Presider or other staff members to give special attention to Mass details.
Additionally, Ushers assist parishioners or guests who may fall ill during the service, including providing assistance to the vestibule or summoning EMS care and transportation when necessary. Ushers try to be helpful and courteous to all persons, by answering questions, providing directions, and accommodating requests when possible and to the best of their ability.
