A Senior Server is any person, man or woman, over the age of 16 who would like to assist the presiding Priest during Mass. This is a new Ministry at our parish. The Senior Server will serve on the altar with Father assisting him during Mass. The Senior Server will oversee the young altar servers while assist Father when needed. The Senior Server will greatly help Father so he can concentrate on the mass and not worry about the incidentals of the mass. This position is ideal for those who were altar servers 5, 10, 25, or 50 years ago or anyone new who would be willing to learn this Ministry. As the Mass has not changed all too much, the training should be quite easy.

Most of the altar servers at St. Mary Mystical Rose are young people. Boys and girls must be in the third grade or older to serve in this Ministry. Servers are asked to select a Mass time that their family attends on a regular basis so that their attendance and service will be consistent.

This Ministry is dedicated to the distribution of the precious Body and Blood of Jesus Christ during the sacrifice of the Mass. The members of this Ministry are allowed to choose a particular Mass time they would like to participate in. Renewal and a training session are held at least once a year.

Proclaiming the Word of God to the congregation is a unique way one can participate in the Sunday Mass, weekday Masses, and Holy Days. Announcing events prior to the beginning of the celebration of the Mass and leading the Prayers of the Faithful are also the responsibility of the Lector. Renewal and a training session are held once a year.
